Express Entry Round Of Invitations: According to the report of The Canadian News, IRCC has introduced its fourteenth Express Entry draw or first draw of June 2023. (IRCC) Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada invited 4,800 students to a program-wide draw. Students need a minimum score of 486 in (CRS) Comprehensive rating system.

It was the first-ever draw of June 2023, following the most current draw on 24 May, in which 4800 students were invited to a program-wide draw with a minimum CRS score of 488. This score is higher than the 26 April All Programs draw, with a required score 483 in CRS. In this article, we will discuss the Express Entry round of invitations.

IRCC Introduce Category-Based Selection Draws Starting This Summer

On May 31, IRCC reported that the department launched six new category-based selection criteria for Express Entry students. The new categories are designed for candidates with specific attributes that support Canada’s financial objectives. These categories are meant for individuals with work experience in five different fields.

  • health care
  • engineering, technology, science, and mathematics (STEM) careers
  • transport
  • trades, like plumbers, carpenters, and contractors
  • agriculture and agri-food

The last and final category is for students with great knowledge of strong French-speaking skills. The department still needs to provide the exact date to hold category-based giveaways, but it hopes to begin in the summer.

Individuals must be part of the Express Entry pool to be eligible for an ITA in the specific draws. The IRCC will evaluate candidates who complete the category requirements and prioritize those with the highest scores to issue ITAs. The IRCC will conduct both all-program and program-specific draws when necessary.

Express Entry Round Of Invitations In 2023

The IRCC invited 49,948 students in the 13 draws in 2023 but excluded this new draw. It shows a much higher number of students than those invited between July to November 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IRCC did not conduct any draws for all programs until July 2022. The first draw after the break saw 31,000 candidates being selected.

Here are the two draws of Express Entry draws in May. The first draw occurred on 10 May for a single draw of 589 students, a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Those students were in the Express Entry pool but were also selected by a regional government.

The two draws that occurred in April were very similar. Both program-wide draws invited 3,500 candidates. The draw of 12 April required candidates to score 346 in CRS, and the draw of 26 April required candidates to have a CRS score of 483.

The March draw was amazing in the number of candidates and the number of draws. Four draws occurred that invited a total number of 21,677 candidates. Which three draws invited 7,000 candidates each, and the remaining draw invited 667 candidates only from the PNP program.

The February month also includes four draws, but each is program-specific. The three draws are for PNP students, and the last is for those in the Federal Skilled Worker Program. January had two draws program-wide that invited 5,500 candidates each.
