Warriors say Curry sidelined with left leg injury

SAN FRANCISCO The Warriors are unsure of how many weeks Golden State All-Star guard Stephen Curry would miss due to ailments to his left leg,

the team announced on Sunday. An MRI revealed that Curry has a lower-leg contusion in addition to partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligament

and interosseous membrane in his left leg. Steve Kerr, the Warriors' coach, emphasised on Sunday that the news might have been much worse.

Kerr admitted, "I had no idea those ligaments even existed. "I believe the most important thing is that he will be out for a while.

In a few days, we'll conduct another assessment. And the good news is that he'll be coming back. Although the specific date is unknown,

the injury won't prevent him from playing the rest of the season. This season, perhaps sooner rather than later, he will return.

Curry's wrapped left leg, which he first hurt during a game against Denver on Thursday, buckled while he played defence,

forcing him to leave Saturday's contest against Dallas with 2:01 remaining in the third quarter.

He instantly started hopping in apparent discomfort, left the game, and never came back.
