So there are chances that students have to take both of these exams to study abroad in some courses.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"definition\"><\/span><strong>Definition<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both exams are for testing the English language proficiency of students, but both exams are quite different. To understand that, you must understand the definition of both exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"what-is-gre\"><\/span><strong>What is GRE?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The full form of the GRE is Graduate Record Examination. This exam is conducted by the ETS (Educational Testing Service). This standard exam measures a student\u2019s general academic ability for graduate programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GRE is a part of the admission process for many graduate programs. It helps the administration to identify the ability of the students to think critically, solve problems, and communicate effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As these are the basic and necessary skills that a student must have to complete their graduate program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two types of the GRE:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>GRE General test<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The test takers\u2019 reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills are tested. This helps the college authorities to understand the basic and required skills of the students to study abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>GRE Subject test<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With this test, students\u2019 knowledge in a particular area of study is tested by the authorities. This test is for those students who have a strong base of any subject that are listed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chemistry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mathematics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Psychology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"what-is-toefl\"><\/span><strong>What Is TOEFL?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This test is also conducted by the ETS. This test is for measuring the English language proficiency of the students.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no requirement for graduation to take this test. Students can take this test even after high school.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This test is widely accepted worldwide and is very popular among students to prove their English language proficiency for college or university admission.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This test is good for both graduates and high school pass-outs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TOEFL is of mainly three types:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>TOEFL iBT (internet-based test)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TOEFL at home (Home-based TOEFL test)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TOEFL paper-delivered test&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"syllabus-pattern\"><\/span><strong>Syllabus &amp; Pattern<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>GRE vs TOEFL; both exams are conducted by the ETS. There is a huge difference between the syllabus and the pattern of both exams.
