It means the waiting time for a visa appointment in Delhi has been reduced to just one month.

In a big relief for all Indian travelers, the United States (US) opened up around 2,50,000 new visa appointments for nonimmigrant visas over the weekend.
The United States Embassy shared a post on Social Media Platform and said it was a busy weekend for our consular team.
The wait time for New Delhi had dropped to just over a month from 543 days last week. Also, Kolkata’s wait time has now dropped to 126 days, but Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai continue to have wait times well over 500 days.
According to the latest data from the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, more than 1,50,000 Indian tourists have traveled to the United States till September 2023.
Last month, the United States Mission to India hit a milestone of one million non-immigrant visa applications for the year. It marks a 20% rise from the number processed in 2019.
According to the United States Embassy and Consulates in India, more than 1.2 million Indian travelers visited the USA last year, making it one of the strongest travel relationships in the world.
Indians now represent more than 10% of all types of visa applicants worldwide, including 65% of all H&L-category (employment) visa applicants and 20% of all student visa applicants. A statement from the US Embassy said the United States welcomes this growth.
