US Embassy Suspended US Visa Appointments From 26-28 July In India: On Monday, 24 July, The US Embassy Announced new visa applicants that its customer service center is migrating to a new platform. 

After announcing this, The Embassy also suspended all fees payment services, customer calls, and appointment bookings, which we will discuss in the upcoming paragraph. This article will discuss the US Embassy suspended US visa appointments from 26-28 July in India.

Based on the US Embassy in India tweeted on Monday and announced that its customer service center is now shifting to a new platform. 

Due to the shifting of the platform, the US Embassy suspended all customer calls and appointment bookings from 26 to 28 July.

The fee payment services will also be suspended from 25 to 28 July. But, the US Embassy said all these services will resume on 29 July. 

The US embassy issued a notice to provide updates on the new guidelines. The embassy asked the customers to take some below-mentioned steps to make the make move easy and suitable for them:

  • Make sure that all the information entered in your profile is correct and complete. If you need to correct any details, please do so immediately. 
  • If you plan to pay the visa application fee soon, please do so after 29 July because the fee services will be unavailable from 25 July to 28 July to enable the system change. The fee services will resume on 29 July. 
  • If you have paid your fees but have not been associated with your profile, please make sure you log in and associate your payment by entering the receipt number of your payment into the profile. 
  • If you are a group coordinator, travel coordinator, or family, you want to add dependant visa applicants to primary applicant profiles. So, ensure every applicant or its dependant has a unique email address. It may mean changing the email address you currently have listed for them. 

Eric Garcetti, US Ambassador to India, said we have reduced the waiting time for first-time tourist visa interviews by more than 50 percent. He added that the goal is to process at least one million visas in 2023. 

At IIT Delhi, Garcetti also mentioned the progress made in visa processing, stating that the United States mission in India is now processing visas faster than ever. 

During his speech at IIT Delhi, Garcetti said they are already progressing towards their goal. We are currently processing visas faster than the US Mission in India ever has before. Also, the objective is to process at least one million visas in 2023, and they are already more than halfway there.

He added that our investments have got actual results, and we have seen wait times for first-time tourist visa interviews drop by over 50%. 

Garcetti highlighted the need to grow operations to remove barriers that hinder qualified travelers from experiencing the US. 

The US Ambassador said they would continue investing in developing the visa operations and enlarging the team member.

The envoy said we will find solutions to ease the visa process, like decreasing in-person interview requirements. It allows consular teams worldwide to help process visas for the growing number of Indian travelers.
