Thailand Allows Indians To Travel Visa Free For Upto 30 Days Stay: Thailand has removed all the visa requirements for Indian and Taiwanese travelers, a move that travel bodies and service providers predict will boost the popular destination’s appeal.
As per the latest news reports, the Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin, announced on Tuesday that Thailand will now offer visa-free entry to Indian and Taiwanese travelers.
Thailand Allows Indians To Travel Visa Free For Upto 30 Days Stay
Tourists from Taiwan and India will be allowed to stay for up to 30 days under the six-month trial starting next month.
It is a significant move. We have around 3,000 members, and it is a big market for agents. Everyone here sells a Thailand package, said President Jyoti Mayal, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).
She mentioned we must reciprocate moves made by other countries to support inbound tourism significantly since the industry hasn’t recovered to pre-COVID levels yet.
Many first-time outbound travelers visit Thailand first and usually return once or twice a year because it’s known as a value-for-money destination.
Rajiv Mehra, President of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), believes that the move to support inbound tourism will lead to a surge in the number of Indian tourists visiting Thailand.
Given its proximity, competitive hotel rates, and cheap airfares, Thailand is already a favorite destination for many Indians.
He added that we would want our government to take some other measures to attract more tourists from abroad, but so far, our government has not taken any measures to do so.
Ashish Gupta, the consulting CEO for the industry body Federation of Associations for Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH), said Thailand was one of the most frequented destinations by Indian travelers after the COVID-19-induced lockdowns, and this latest move shows the commitment of the country to tourism.
According to Subhash Goyal, who is the chairman of the STIC Travel Group and also the chairman of the aviation, travel, and tourism committee at the Indian Chamber of Commerce, the recent visa waiver for tourists from India will likely bring a significant boost to travel from India to Thailand.
This is because Indian tourists will not have to go through the visa procedures upon arrival in Thailand, and there will be no financial costs associated with the visa.
With a flying time of approximately 4-6 hours from India, Indians are expected to use their long weekends and holidays to travel to Thailand.
However, Goyal emphasized that a substantial increase in Indian travelers to Thailand is only possible if there is a corresponding increase in flight capacity.
So, it is all about Thailand allows Indians to travel visa free for upto 30 days stay.
