Mobility and Migration Partnership Agreement signed between India and Italy to facilitate movement of workers and students: The External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a productive and comprehensive meeting with his counterpart Antonio Tajani. 

After the meeting, Both countries, India and Italy, signed the Mobility and Migration Partnership Agreement.  

The agreement aims to facilitate the smooth movement of workers, students, and professionals between the two countries.

After the meeting, Jaishankar posted on the social media platform a comprehensive and productive meeting this evening with DPM & FM @Antonio_Tajani. 

The Indian Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is an official visit to Italy and Portugal. 

EAM posted on Social Media and conversed about deepening our strategic partnership. Agreed that potential in innovation, agro-tech, defense, space, and the digital domain should be explored. 

Detailed discussions were held between the two country’s leaders in the meeting about many issues, including the Ukraine conflict, the West Asia situation, and the Indo-Pacific landscape.

Jaishankar said we appreciate the help of Italy for our initiatives and also for the G20 Presidency. 

He added that at the end of our talks, India and Italy signed the Mobility and Migration Partnership Agreement and the Cultural Exchange Programme.

The agreement is expected to boost trade, investment, and cultural ties between India and Italy. It will also create new opportunities for Indian and Italian citizens to live, work, and study in each other’s countries.

The India-Italy Mobility and Migration Partnership Agreement is a welcome development that will strengthen the relationship between the two countries and benefit their citizens.

It is interesting to note that the Indian diaspora in Italy, with a population of around 180,000, is the third largest in Europe, after the UK and the Netherlands. 

The majority of these immigrants are first-generation and work in sectors such as dairy farming, construction, agriculture, the leather industry,  and the service sector.

So, it is all about the Mobility and Migration Partnership Agreement signed between India and Italy to facilitate movement of workers and students.
