IRCC Announced To Open New Trades-Targeted Express Entry Draw This Week

Today, The New Immigration Minister of Canada, Marc Miller, announced that the new and first draw of Express Entry which targets ten different trades occupations will open this week.

This latest news will emphasize many students with expertise in skilled trades, like plumbing, carpentry, and welding.

The more interesting thing is to see the cutoff score of CRS for these latest trades occupations.

He confirmed that category-specific selection rounds will take place throughout the year besides the regular invitation rounds. More information regarding this will be provided in the upcoming weeks.

The New Honourable Minister of Canada Immigration and Citizenship, Marc Miller, said it is most important to highlight the lack of talented and professional trades workers in our country, and the solution is to help the construction sector find and maintain all the employees it needs.

He added that I am happy to announce that skilled trades workers have been identified as essential in our category-based selection process. I am excited to welcome more talented individuals from this field to Canada.

On 2 August 2023, a total of 800 invitations were issued to apply for permanent residency (PR) through the latest Express Entry draw, which was especially for profiles with a French proficiency level of 7 or higher.
