International IT Graduates Can Stay For Extra 2 Years In Australia: The good news for all International IT (Information Technology) Students. All the International IT students can keep working in Australia for an extra two years after finishing their studies under the migration system changes that started on 1st July.

Students with their particular degrees can be qualified to remove the minimum application charge of $1,730 for the post-study work visa. In this article, we will discuss the International IT Graduates Can Stay For Extra 2 Years In Australia in Australia.

International IT Graduates Can Stay For Extra 2 Years

The extension of the Temporary Graduate Visa for the post-study stream was announced earlier this year. Also, Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil said this visa extension would benefit all of us to have international students live in Australia longer.

She also mentioned that, after a lost decade on skills and immigration, we are looking for methods to use skilled migrants through better targeted and improved training and less exploitative programs for temporary visa students and workers.

All people and students with a post-study work permit must apply online for the extended 2-year visa. Also, the previous month, the Australian government finalized its complete list of the university degrees that qualify for an extension of a 2-year visa. This list contains around 3,260 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs from Universities in Australia.

From the completed degree lists, more than 575 programs are related to Information Technology (IT), including degree programs in cyber security, artificial intelligence, software engineering, data science, business analytics, and enterprise resource.

The qualifications are chosen based on the skills priority lists on the National Skills Commission. Also, from that list, out of 29 IT-related occupations, all but six are categorized as including a national lack, and most are characterized as areas with strong future demand. The Austalia government is still preparing for reform modifications to the migration system that a current government-commissioned review defined as “broken” and “neither quick nor efficient.”

Other migration changes from the Australian government began on 1st July, including a rising income threshold from $53,900 to $70,000 for all temporary skilled migrants. But the most important change for international students is the re-announcement of the new limit of work hours.

International students with Australian student visa holders can now work 48 hours a fortnight while class is in session. Any student already working in the aged care sector on May 9, 2023, will be permitted to work unrestricted hours in their sector until the end of this year.

The visa rules and regulations are announced during rising cost-of-living pressures – especially regarding housing. The current news from Australian reports has shown that they severely impact the international student population.

Some international students have been sharing their beds with other stranger students for a few hours a night on a rotating shift basis. This process is generally called a hot-bedding to get cheaper rent. Advocates of international students are also worried regarding the re-announcement of a work cap for students will create more housing and cost of living stress for international students seeking education in Australia.

In (NSW) New South Wales, the Australian government encourages some universities to take the burden for cost-of-living and housing. The state Housing Minister Rose Jackson tells the Sydney Morning Herald that institutes “definitely have a position to ensure students have good housing.

So, it is all about International IT graduates can stay for extra 2 years.
