How To Send IELTS Score To Universities? IELTS is an English language skill test. It tests your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.

There are two types of IELTS; IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training.

The IELTS Academic is for those who want to study abroad where English is their first language.

IELTS general training is for those students who want to apply for jobs or PR.

Students who give paper-based IELTS tests receive their TRF and IELTS score on the 13th day after the exam.

Students who give the computer-based IELTS test receive their scores 3 to 5 days after the exam.

If you are applying for UKBA (United Kingdom Border Agency) or CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada), then you will get two TRF (Test Report Forms). IELTS Students get only one IELTS TRF. It is valid for two years.

If you want to get two TRFs, you must provide proof of application to CIC and UKBA.

There are no extra fees for processing the first five TRF (Test Report Forms).

In this blog, we will discuss how to send IELTS scores to universities. If you want to know how you can prepare for the IELTS exam at home, then you should read “Best 11 Tips On How To Prepare For IELTS Exam At Home.”

How to Send Your IELTS Scores

How-To-Send-IELTS-Score-To-Universities

How To Send IELTS Score To Universities? You can get your score 13 days after the test. If you want to preview your score, you can preview it online.

You will get your TRF (Test Report Form) by mail.

Suppose you get your score and are not satisfied with that. Then you can also apply to re-mark the IELTS test. For that, you have to pay a fee of INR 8,475 (eight thousand four hundred seventy-five rupees), including all the taxes.

You have to fill out a form for re-marking and attach your original TRF (Test Report Form) with the form. After filling out the form, you must send it to the IELTS Administrator at your test centre.

One of the major benefits is that you will get a refund of your money if your overall band score increases in re-mark process. So if you are fully sure that you should get a higher score and you are not satisfied with your test result, then you should apply for re-marking in the IELTS exam.

If you are not sure that your score will increase, then you can consider retaking the test. Because you can give the exam again by preparing and this time you will not make the mistakes you may have made before.

And also, you can find a new IELTS preparation option that you have been relying on.

If your IELTS score is good, then you can send your score to the university by following the instruction below:

  • Choose universities
  • Request score sending
  • Choose delivery method
  • Submit and pay

Choose universities

How To Send IELTS Score To Universities? Before submitting your TRF, choose your university. You can send your TRF to 5 different universities free of charge within one month from the test date.

But if you want to send your score or your TRF to more than five institutes, then you have to pay a fee of INR 250 (Two hundred fifty rupees). You have to pay that charge for the ATRF ( Additional Result Test Form ).

There will be an option for selecting whether you want to send physical or digital TRF to the institutes.

This service is only applicable for one month after your exam date. If you send your results after a month to an institute, then you have to pay for every ATRF. The more results you send, the more you have to pay.

To send your results to the institutes, you must make a list of the universities you want to study at. In that list, you should also write the requirement of those universities.

You should keep more than 5 universities on your list, and after getting your result, you can check which universities you fulfilled all the requirements for.

So, at last, make a list of your preferred universities or institutes. Check whether your score meets their requirements and decide how many universities you want to apply to because, after five, you have to pay for ARTF.

Request Score Sending

How To Send IELTS Score To Universities? You can send the request in two ways. You can request either during the registration process or after you have received your score.

If you want to request during registration, you must provide your university name and address while booking a test on the test centre website.

And also, fill out an application form with five universities and mail it to the nearest test centre.

In this case, universities may get your IELTS score before you do. Sound scare?

Therefore, I recommend requesting after you will have received your score.

If you’ve taken the IELTS score more than once, you can send the best score!

Sending the result after the declaration has a lot of benefits. Firstly, after viewing your score, you can make a list of universities for which you fulfil all the requirements. Then you can pick up the top 5 universities you want to send results to.

If you want to send results to more than 5 institutes, then, as I told you before, you have to pay a fee of INR 250 extra for each ATRF.

To request a score report, you can log in to the official website of IELTS.

Then find and apply for additional TRFs on the left-hand side of your result page and submit the application forms online.

Choose delivery method

You can send your score by either paper TRF or electronic score report.

Before deciding on a score delivery method, check the official website of your dream universities to make sure which methods they accept.

If you send paper TRFs, you must also pay for courier or normal delivery.

I strongly advise using a courier service like DHL instead of normal delivery. You can easily track your order and confirm the delivery if you use a courier service like DHL. In a normal delivery, this facility is not available.

Submit And Pay

You can now submit and pay for your application. Universities receive electronic score reports in five business days, and paper score reports in five to ten business days.

Though it may be a lengthy process, it is an essential part of the international college application process.

Don’t forget to submit your scores before the application deadlines, and plan everything!
