France is ready to welcome 30K Indian students by 2030: According to Thierry Mathou, the Ambassador of France to India, Indian students who want to pursue higher studies in France usually face visa-related difficulties.
However, Mathou said in an interview that France is now prepared to receive visas without any complications.
He also mentioned that President Emmanuel Macron has expressed that France is ready to welcome 30,000 Indian students into its higher education institutions by the year 2030.
France Is Ready To Welcome 30K Indian Students By 2030: Students Are Now For Visa
Indian students who have completed a Master’s or any other higher degree and have spent at least 1 semester studying in France are now qualified for a 5-year short-stay Schengen visa.
It is a special provision for Indian alumni, which allows them to maintain close relations with France and their French counterparts.
It was mentioned that France has given priority to this provision, making it much easier for Indian students to visit France compared to other countries.
Many students are in France’s business program and may soon be in engineering. The ambassador said France aims to establish strategic partnerships in multiple sectors, like engineering and design.
He also mentioned that the country believes that when an Indian student completes just one semester in France, it makes a good connection that should be cherished and fostered.
Study Opportunities In France
Students will have the option to receive first-hand information from representatives of the top 50 colleges and universities about the courses and programs they can attend.
These programs include a diverse range of study fields. Among them are five public universities, 17 engineering schools, 22 business and management schools, three arts and design schools, one French language school, and two hospitality and tourism schools.
Also, the universities will create some international classes to welcome non-francophone candidates to standard French bachelor programs after 1-year of training.

The French ambassador mentioned that India and France have a strong connection in student and research mobility and academic cooperation.
Around 600 partnerships will be established between India and France to strengthen their academic relations.
