Express Entry Applicants No Longer Require Upfront Medical Examination: Good news for Express Entry applicants! IRCC has changed the Immigration Medical Examination (IME) requirement, allowing them to submit applications without an upfront medical examination.
It is excellent news for only Express Entry applicants who receive an (ITA) Invitation to Apply, and it is also important to understand what this means.
Express Entry Applicants No Longer Require Upfront Medical Examination
When submitting your application after receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA), IRCC will no longer require Express Entry applicants and their family members to provide an advance immigration medical examination (IME).
Instead, you will be asked to attach your advanced medical examination proof in your profile builder.
If you have previously completed an IME as part of another application, you can include it in your current application using the same upload slot.
Applicants must consist of the IME or UMI number from their most recent medical examination. You can upload a blank document if you have never completed an IME.
IRCC may send you instructions on when to complete your medical examination if needed.
It’s important to note that obtaining a Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) or temporary residence requires undergoing an IME.
The IME ensures that you are not medically inadmissible to Canada and is led by a group of medical professionals with IRCC licenses.
There are two types of immigration medical examinations in Canada: the Upfront Immigration Medical Examination and the standard immigration medical examination.
An advanced medical examination is recommended for those without an application in the medical system.
After receiving the IME letter, you usually visit a panel doctor for a medical exam.
However, the panel doctor may sometimes examine without the IME letter. As a result, this is essentially what advanced medical testing involves.
