Canada Parents And Grandparents Sponsorship 2023: On 8 September 2023, IRCC announced they would start accepting more than 15,000 complete applications for the individuals’ Parents & Grandparents Sponsorship (PGP) 2023 in October.
Starting on 10 October 2023, IRCC will send invitations to apply to 24,200 prospective sponsors to receive up to 15,000 complete applications.
The sponsorship invitations will be sent for around two weeks beginning on 10 October 2023.
IRCC said they would only send invitations to apply to arbitrarily selected potential sponsors from the remaining 2020 year pool of submissions instead of opening a new interest to sponsor form.
This approach was employed for both the 2021 and 2022 intakes. Therefore, if you filled out an interest to sponsor form in 2020 but didn’t get an invitation to apply in either 2021 or 2022, kindly check the email address you provided in 2020.
Those persons who are invited to apply for the 2023 intakes must submit their application forms electronically through the Representative Permanent Residence (PR) Portal or Permanent Residence (PR) Portal.
Canada Parents And Grandparents Sponsorship 2023 Eligibility
To be eligible to sponsor your family, like parents or grandparents, for Canadian PR (Permanent Residency), you must be:
- At least 18 years old
- A Canadian Citizen
- A permanent resident of Canada
- A person registered as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act in Canada
- Have enough money to support the family you want to sponsor
- Also, have valid proof of income for the last three years, fulfilling the financial requirements of IRCC
