It was considering the Immigrant students who are mainly from Punjab and have been facing deportation from Canada over a victim of fraud and a case of fake documents. According to Sean Fraser, a process will be executed to enable students to prove that they were taken advantage of and provide appropriate remedies.

During the Question hour held on Monday at the House of Commons, Sean Fraser repeated that they were working on assisting innocent students.

Fraser also said in reply to a question from a member of the opposition New Democratic Party, Jenny Kwan. As per our conversation last week, I am happy to inform you that we have been working hard towards developing a system to protect innocent students who have fallen victim to fraud and have an opportunity to stay in Canada.

Fraser has explained that those who intentionally participated in fraudulent activities will face the full consequences of breaking Canadian laws.

The (CBSA) Canada Border Services Agency announced a new deportation notice to students who used fake admission offer letters to secure their permits between 2018 and 2022. 

Education Migration Services, run by Brijesh Mishra in Jalandhar, facilitated these applications and has since closed down. In response to the mental health concerns of affected students, CBSA has promised to establish a process that allows them to show their exploitation and provide suitable remedies.

Several students who had traveled to Canada on study visas were cheated out of tens of thousands of dollars, and the fraud was exposed when they applied for permanent residency. 

Vancouver East MP, Kwan, has supported these international students by presenting two motions to the immigration committee. She has questioned how this fraudulent scheme was allowed to happen and why the fraudulent documents were not detected earlier. Kwan has requested the immigration committee to take steps to stop such occurrences. 

MP Sukh Dhaliwal, of Punjab origin, has claimed that the data of 700 Indian students facing deportation is highly exaggerated, and the actual number could be around 200. Dhaliwal has mentioned that only one student from Punjab has approached him, and this student was a genuine victim of fraud. 

He has requested that each victim should be allowed to present their case and that the culprit should be brought to justice. Dhaliwal has stated that this is a network of immigration cheats primarily based in Punjab and Delhi. 

Several students from India have lost thousands of dollars to unauthorized consultants, ruining their permanent residency application, and many unauthorized consultants have cheated many innocent people.
